Rolled Paper Rose Wreath Made with My Silhouette Cameo Cutting Machine

Yesterday my silhouette Cameo was working hard for me cutting lots of 12x12 Christmas Card Stock. I fit two small and two larger rolled paper roses per sheet.

You roll the paper roses like you would for quilling. I also used McGills Paper Punches for the leafs and for dimension, I ran them through my quilling crimper.

Unfortunately the paper I used for the rolled roses by DCWV made by Provo (The Christmas 180 Stack), perhaps a brand from Joann's, not sure though. was not double sided.
I did not notice until I began cutting it. It was on sale for $9.99 at Joann's.
Although it's very pretty paper, I had to end up painting as well as I could the white on the back of the paper after I had the roses rolled and on the Bookboard. This was time consuming and hard to do.
I like the bookboard better then the styrofoam, it's eco friendly and works better with paper flowers I think. However my daughter says she wishes she would have used the styrofoam wreath form for her paper flower wreath we made together found here. Flower Shape Rolled Rose from Silhouette Cameo's Website can be found here.

After I rolled lots of roses I began gluing and arranging them onto the bookboard. I think it turned out really pretty using the Christmas paper. The only thing I would do next time if using only the one sided designed card stock paper is paint the back of the paper first with some water color very lightly. I like the lighter weight paper though it was nice for this project.

I think this wreath looks better in person, but some things are just like that. Next I want to make gift tags for the Christmas.

Another fun craft with my Silhouette Cameo!

Vintage Jewels from the 40's, 50's and 60's

Oooh la la, I found the most darling vintage floral findings, leaves and flowers from the 40's, 50's and 60's. I have no idea what I am going to do with them. I purchased them in the spring and I am presently working on a necklace with some of the findings and I made this brooch using one of the findings for a support for this flower garden brooch I made. Only problem is it's to heavy for the clip in the back I glued on to attach to your clothing, so I am not sure what I am going to do now with this brooch. I will have to check into what I can do, perhaps a more sturdy brooch finding back would work.

Winter Luminaries - Snowflake - Vine

I just love Luminaries, they are so fun and beautiful. I wanted to photograph them with my Nikon D3100 Camera. It has taken awhile but I am learning so much about photography with this camera. My husband purchased this camera for me for Christmas last year. I love it, it's the best camera ever!

Last night we did a small amount of decorating for the holidays, then I watched a cute movie on Lifetime called Dear Santa.

Hand Stamped Jewelry-Snowman and Snowflakes, Sterling Star

I am still practicing my skills or none skills at hand stamping, I am great at stamping letters and numbers the decorative stamps are a challenge for me. I guess for now I better stick with a design from the book or online classes.

I had a heck of a time with the star that is not something a beginner should stamp on other then perhaps an initial. I am not sure I like the way this turned out, I will see what I am gong to do, after all it's sterling silver and a gift for my granddaughter Morgan.

Further more it's hard for me to photograph the hand stamped jewelry, it's so shiny and reflects so bad. I did find a link online on how to do it, but I don't have any of that equipment that the tutorial suggested. The chain is silver and looks dirty, but it's a brand new silver chain.

I did like the way the Snowman turned out with the snowflakes it's whimsical. I am practicing  on copper, but that metal is different then the metal I am stamping on, so that poses some problems for me.

I really like this purple disk, the chain is silver but does not look like it in this photo. I think I will try to photograph the hand stamped jewelry on a sunny day outside, under my patio cover. I will put the necklace for sale in my shop once my photo turns out decent of it. Right now it's been raining since Thanksgiving day.

Getting Ready For Christmas

Did everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving? We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Anyone go out for Black Friday? I never shop outside the house on black Friday. I will go after that day or before, but never on it.

I had such a huge mess to clean in my kitchen, that is the only thing about Thanksgiving I don't like is the BIG mess.

Today I have some suncatchers to make and then I want to get some vacuuming done and mop the floors.

Here is one photo that was taken of my grandson Rylan and my mom and me. I don't much care for photos of myself.

Vintaj Antique Brass Bird Necklace with Acorn Earrings

I made this really cute necklace and earrings set it can be bought separately or together. The bird has been embossed onto the copper and then aged using different methods to get the look of being old.
Hanging from the necklace is three charms, Swarovski Crystal Pearl, Acorn Charm (Matches Earrings), and a black and gold Czech bead. I used antique colored chain with a lobster claw. The  necklace is 16" not including the length with the charms.

The back of the bird necklace is the same as the front, although even more aged, the necklace is $30.00 , plus $3.50 shipping.

The acorn earrings are made with Antique brass acorn bead caps and earrwires, Czech beads. These cute earrings are #15.00, plus $3.50 shipping.

If you would like to purchase the set $45.00 plus $4.00 shipping, use this buy now button below for cheaper shipping on the two items together.

Thanksgiving Place Cards, Decorative Box, and Pie Sticks Made with the Silhouette Cameo

I am really loving my Silhouette Cameo, I just got done making my place cards, and two pie sticks that say eat pie with a turkey and a cute box.
I made a mistake and didn't type everyones name on the place cards but that's okay I will be sure to remember to do that next time. Darn, I didn't even think of it until they were printed out already.

I made the Thanksgiving Blessing mix today and it's always nice to have a photo to go with a recipe. So now I will place the photo on the recipe page. Click here for the recipe. It's hard to find candy corn after Halloween so if you need it you can get it online at the Jelly Belly website. We happen to live near a Jelly Belly Factory. Yay!

Neiman Marcus $250.00 Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Here is a recipe I got quite a few years ago when I had a Geo Cities website. It's become a favorite of ours and it's the best hands down chocolate cookie recipe. I have never checked into if this recipe if it is really from Neiman Marcus, but it's very yummy none the less, so give it a try.

I make mine with the best of the best ingredients, Nestle chocolate chips, C & H Pure cane sugar and brown sugar,  Quaker Oatmeal, Gold Medal Flour, Hershey's Chocolate Bar, to name a few of the ingredients.

You can print the recipe out at the link above. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Sony DSLR-A300 Black Camera with Free 16 GB Memory Card

I don't sell on Ebay that often but I put a Sony camera up for sale, I have three cameras and two camcorders, it's getting hard to store all my cameras and I don't even use them all. I am always going for my favorite the Nikon, although I love this camera as well. It's
the best camera I've ever owned, except for the nikon. I really think it takes equally as nice photos as the nikon camera I own.
Check out my camera I have for sale it's a great camera for macro photos and scenery photos.

Hand Stamped Jewelry

I just am learning to hand stamp jewelry and I am already addicted to it. I have a few samples of what I made.

The first thing I made today turned out the best, the silver angel wing with star. I put a baby face on it with baby feet prints and Rylan's name. I know this photo is awful I don't know how to photograph hand tamped Jewelry yet.  That is something I will have to read about.
The last two I did, didn't turn out as well because the copper dog bones were a softer metal.
I got the F's in Effie to close together and on the other one the metal was so soft I went right through it on the ends in some place. I guess next time I will tap lighter the hammer.
Oh well it was a good learning experience and I have been practicing on a piece of sheet metal. I would have used my good fonts but I was not sure how this would all look but next time I will pull out my good fonts, I am ready to get to work making hand stamped jewelry.

I have to put a hole in the top for the necklace to go through on the angel wing and solder the star to the wing and attach the star charm and then add the silver chain and I will give this to my daughter for Christmas. She will be very surprised, she does not know I am stamping yet!

Another craft LOL! I have been purchasing and collecting the supplies to create hand stamped jewelry and it adds up fast. I bought all the things I would need and I still want to add several more stamps to my growing collection.

The next step is going to be to master the skill and to learn to photograph these pretty shiny things.

Thanksgiving Autumn Swag How To with Silhouette Cameo

I was browsing around the other night admiring all the things to make with paper and I found this cute swag in the projects at Sizzix. I would have linked to the project but I could not find it again. Good thing I downloaded the image, I printed it out as a guide.
I like it a lot and thought I would make it using my new Silhouette Cameo. I purchased four shapes for $3.96 and then began cutting so I could create a swag.
Here are the shapes I purchased.
bird branch
(bird_branch_C20091115195341_23067)
oak leaf & acorn
(oak_leaf__acorn_C00035_30551)
thanksgiving leaf
(thanksgiving_leaf_C00781_18816)
8 fall leaves
(8_fall_leaves_C00753_20509)

If you have a Silhouette Cameo you can purchase and download those or use some you made or have.

I got my shapes ready using the Silhouette Studio that comes with the Silhouette Cameo. I prepared each sheet and made several colors of the leaves, the branches one sheet of four and about 2 acorns.
 Printing my branches

Some of my leaves

I cut out a bunch to use in other projects

Time to arrange them on the board strip

Finished time to hang on the inside door using Command Hanging Strips

Love the Thanksgiving cut out leave that is really sweet

Take your Silhouette Cameo and print your leaves and branches and acorns, I really like the one that says Thanksgiving and I put that leave on the right side on the end.
I used some Distressed ink by Tim Holtz around the edges of some of the paper leafs, I actually added to much, I should have used a Q-tip but I used my finger instead. I used the ink for some definition. It actually looks really good until you look close up like in the photo, but from a distance, standing back it really is pretty.

After you get done inking you will need to cut a piece of white craft board  or Foam Board Joann's and Michaels both carry it.
You can cut into a strip using a blade cutting tool. Cut it to the length you desire.
Now just start arranging your leaves, acorns and branches the way you desire or use the photos as a guide.
Glue the cut outs in place let dry and you're done.
I hung mine on the inside of my front door, I didn't add a ribbon or wire because I hung mine using Command Hanging Strips.
My husband even thought the swag was pretty cool so that is awesome!
