Here is the recipe
3 cups Quaker Oats (Quick or Old Fashioned) uncooked
1 cup shredded coconut if desired
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
dash of salt
2/3 cups raisins
Combine all ingredients except raisins in ungreased 13x9 inch baking pan, mix well. Bake in preheated oven at 350 F. 25 to 30 minutes. This is important and be sure to open the oven and mix the granola around with a large wooden spoon mixing it until the browned edges go in and the inside goes out this will keep it from burning and the outer part getting to well done.
After you take it out of the oven put the raisins in the granola and mix it up well and let it cool to room temperature.
Store tightly in covered containers. Use on yogurt or for cereal with milk or for snacks.
Makes about 6 cups of granola
I found these cute jars several years ago with the handles on them, they are cute but don't look right with the fabric top because the handle gets in the way. So the rest of the jars I will make without the fabric.
I still have so much to accomplish before Christmas, I must be doing to much my back is killing me.
