A Day of Handmade Cards

On Wednesday I pulled out my Silhouette Cameo Cutting Machine and started cutting away. I cut paper for several hours and still did not cut out everything I wanted, but I got the bulk of the cutting done. I have a few projects I am working on (Surprise).

One project I am working on is a framed paper art owl. I hope that gets done before Easter weekend. I wanted it done this weekend because Kirsten is coming over with Rylan and I am making it for his room. If I didn't get so distracted it would be done as of Thursday. Well perhaps there is still time it's only Friday and it should only take a few hours to make.

On Thursday besides making a few pairs of earrings and talking on the phone trying to get things taken care of for my mom and woking on a few orders from my website I found a bit of time in the afternoon to make some cards from the cuttings I did on Wednesday with the Silhouette Cameo Cutting Machine.  I think I made 10 cards and 5 gift tags. I didn't photograph all the gift tags, but they are super cute.

Two cute baby boy cut out owl cards. My neighbor had a baby boy her first at 38, so I wanted to make a card for her and her husband to go with the gift I bought them for little baby Carson.

A Vintage lady filigree I love this one it's my favorite image I added a Swarovski Crystal on the image, I need to make some vintage roses using Quilling I think because the card is plain, but then again maybe it should be, what do you think? leave it plain or to much if I add some tiny quilled roses around the outer white part? what color roses would be nice do you think?

Another favorite image of mine a little girl silhouette, I added two Swarovski Crystals on this card as well. I will leave the rest of the card plain.

I love this one as well it's a hand stitched heart with a chipboard bird, I think the bird may need a branch though.

As you can see I am still not done designing some of these cards.

Hand stitched heart with a chipboard butterfly.

When my kids were young I was addicted to stamps, paper, ink and made cards with them all the time. I was also addicted to cross stitch and sewing at that time. I think my addictions have grown leaps and bounds. I did work though so that helped contain and limit my urges to splurges.
At Christmas I made everyone hand made cards and Kirsten was so excited. I think it brought back memories to her. I didn't make one for Shane, but I should, he loves arts and crafts. This year my son and his wife will graduate with a BA degree. I am so excited for them.

When Steve came home from work and after I fixed him dinner I was working on this card and he seemed to like this one. I think he liked the background it's so cheery and a cute hand stitched butterfly. I was thinking of putting something in the center of the butterfly but what? I think it would be to messy and simple is good.

Another hand stitched heart, I will have to think about what I want to do with this one in the center.

Another Vintage Lady silhouette card with Swarovski Crystal, these are simple but sweet.

and again this one looks very Victorian to me.

Another Stitched Heart Butterfly Card I put stickles on the butterfly.

I large bird Gift Tag with Swarovski Crystal Eye.

Vintage Lady Gift Tags with Swarovski Crystals

So what is your favorite card?

Now I have to go to Joann's today and then make the framed owl you will really like that when I get it done and post it. Everything for baby Rylan is so cute. I also need to make a few Easter Cards.

Have a great TGIF.... one more day until April!

These first earrings are made with Swarovski Crystal Artemis Beads in Crystal AB, I turned them into angel earrings with the wings and crystal halo.

The next pair of earrings shown below are made with rose colored Galactic Beads by Swarovski Crystals, I used silver angle wings and I used rose water opal vintage rose filigree Swarovski Crystal flower at the top.

Paper 3D Easter Bunny Baskets or Treat Baskets Made with My Silhouette Cameo

I have been crafting up a storm, but trying to find time to get online. In-between crafting and my busy days trying to balance my life between my elderly mom, daughter and grandkids it's just a crazy life. Naturally if you have an elderly mom she needs a lot of help. Unfortunately my one brother whom lives nearby does not help me with anything but God has blessed me with a wonderful husband who helps my mom with so many things.  Trying to get together with the kids is hard especially since they both work. In any event we make time as often as we can. This weekend I am suppose to see Kirsten and baby Rylan, he is 7 months old now.  Check out his cute photos two post back here is the link.

We have decided to not take a vacation or to move out of state at this time, there is just to many situations that are beyond our control to prevent us from moving at this time in our lives. We also calculated our gas cost to Bryce Canyon and it's just to much money to go there for that trip. If I am going to spend that kind of money on gas I want to go somewhere that is not in the desert. I want to go to Vancouver and Steve is not really interested in that trip, but that is mainly because of the cost of getting passports. Perhaps another time we can go there.
I am fine with that though because I love it here where we live it's beautiful and I have a good life here.
I know Steve wants to move though and has wanted to since we married, but I always say no, now I say yes, but someday not now. I will miss Shane, Jaime and especially Morgan oh my gosh I cannot bare to think I won't get to see her and go to the movies and shopping with her as often as we do now. Just makes me so very sad. They are moving to Utah this summer because of Shane's job relocating to Utah.

Well in any event here are the sweet little crafts I have been making.

Here is two cute 3D paper bunny boxes that are made using my Silhouette Cameo Cutting Machine.

To make the bunny boxes I used this 3D bunny shape box  I used yarn for the ears, nose and tail.

Three 3D paper treat boxes also made with my silhouette cameo cutting machine. These are great because you can use the all year long for cute gift boxes to hold little treats like candy and jewelry and small gifts.

For these cute little boxes I used this 3d shape

I made baby Rylan a crochet bunny for Easter, a lot of toys he has are to big for his tiny hands but this one is perfect.

I have a lot of blogs I follow, so if you don't see yours let me know and I will add it if I visit you often. A lot of blogs I follow are craft blogs and online buddies.
Have a wonderful day! it' very rainy and ugly out. I hope the rain goes away before Easter I don't like rainy Easters.

It's My Spring fling Bird Embroidered Table Runner

A misty winter brings a pleasant spring, a pleasant winter a misty spring.
Irish proverb

Finally it is Spring! yay my favorite time of year, it's time to say good-bye to the barren trees.....

It's been mostly raining all week... the first day of Spring I had my hair colored from the mousy dishwater blond I had this winter. It's now very springy blond, I like it.

Bird photo I took in the trees in my backyard.

I decorated my table today with Spring things, a pretty gold vase I filled with some green grass and little cute birds, nuts and seeds for an earth look.

At first I had it just like this, but then I added some things to the green leaf bowl and two birds in the gold vase.

I think that looks better now.

Later in the day I had to run some errands to mail some orders and then stopped at Target, that is where I got the table runner above with the pretty gold and orange colors very springy, it was on clearance probably from last years stash of stuff. I also found this adorable table runner with the birds on it, if you know me then you know I love love love birds and owls, dogs and cats.
Isn't that the most darling little bird? it's on a table runner at Target.

I love this table runner it was not on clearance but if I did not buy it today it would be gone so I got it and 6 place mats that match. It's my spring fling an adorable bird embroidered table runner.

I will add this bird table runner to my table after Easter, the one I got on clearance looks like a Easter table runner to me with those colors.

Soon it will be Easter and then my birthday and they our trip to Utah. I can't wait.

St. Patrick used Shamrock to Explain Trinity

St. Patrick used the Shamrock to explain the concept of the holy trinity, that God was composed of three entities the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, yet each entity was part of the other just like the shamrock has three leaves but a single stem.

The word shamrock comes from the Irish word "seamrog" meaning "little clover".

Well I was a day late and a dollar short on posting this little tid bit, but I was exhausted yesterday.

We have some good news and some bad news in our family. Bad News - my son and his family are moving to Salt Lake City Utah. Verizon is moving the Government and care centers to Utah. This change effects about 350 employees and they are said to pay for moving expenses, those that don't want to go will be given a call center positions or they can leave and be given a severance pay.
Good News- my brother lives there with his four children and wife, we've all wanted to leave California including my daughter, so it's fairly possible we will all be moving there. If we can sell our house and have enough money to pay off what we owe, we are under water though then we can go, if not we will need to think about how we want to handle this move. My mom will be coming with us everyone is on board with this, we also have to sell her house. My daughter and her husband are not tied down to a house and they can live anywhere because her husband drives a truck. Luckily my son and DIL are not tied down to a house either.
We are not Mormon but we love the city of Salt Lake it's very beautiful. If it takes us awhile to get there I will miss them terribly.
It's ironic that Steve and I have been talking about moving nearly every week, we are not happy here and think about retirement he is 57. I really can't believe that, where does the time go?? everything we had planned for our lives is lost, we essentially have to start over again and take a loss, all the experts say the housing market will not pick back up for years and we don't know when that is and are not willing to wait much longer.
Of course Steve will need a job also so that is the first thing we must do is have a job waiting for him there.
We are planning on going to visit my brother in May. Steve will apply on line for jobs and in person in May.  I pray all the pieces will fall together quickly but we have double trouble because of my moms situation but we will manage to get through this move somehow.
At fist I cried when my son told me but then I looked at it as an answer to prayer because I never wanted to leave my kids and we all had talked about leaving.
I will write more about this a time goes on.

Photos of Rylan my daughter had taken for his 7 months mark.

The first photo he has on the crochet owl cap I made him.  He has a few of the red spots on face and chest babies get some times. Morgan had one for a few years but then it went away. Her parents worried about that I remember as does Kirsten.

Dessert from yesterday Emerald Isle Cupcakes, they are very good made with pistachio
pudding mix and cream cheese frosting.
The recipe was found at the gooseberry patch blog it's from their 101 cupcakes, cookies and brownie recipe book.
Here is the recipe in case that one gets deleted I will post it here.
1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
3 4 oz package of instant pudding mix
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs beaten
1 1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

I made homemade cream cheese frosting but the recipe says 16 oz container of cream cheese frosting

Green sprinkles or other candy sprinkles

In your kitchenaid combine flour, sugar, dry pudding mix, baking powder and salt. In another bowl beat in eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, add to flour mixture and mix well until throughly blended. Fill in Saint Patrick Day decorated paper liners and bake at 375 degrees fro 20 minutes or so until toothpick comes out clean.
Eat up Yum!
