Kat's Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

Peanut-y Peanut Butter Cookies

I made this recipe up because I was trying to make a recipe of peanut butter cookies that tasted just like my grandma's. I don't have her recipe and she is in heaven now, so I think this  is how she made them...or my taste buds do.

This is my husband's favorite cookie that I make, although he loves all my cookies.

I took these photos with my cell phone. If you aren't in the mood for peanut butter cookies by now....
I didn't eat not even one, I sent them with the hubs and pop for their fishing trip.

You can find the recipe here to print out and bake some right away.

Angel Rainbow Crystal Suncatchers

Today I got busy making 4 new angel crystal rainbow suncatchers. I have had the drops for the new colored angels since December, but I got so busy then after Christmas I took a break from creating. I had the thoughts in my head though. So here is two of my newest angel suncatchers. I will post the other two perhaps this weekend, I didn't have enough sun left in the day to photograph the other two. I hope it will be sunny tomorrow.

This my new angel baby Irish Eyes, I have posted her to my website, she is also for sale in my Etsy Shop. I think she is pretty cute and greens and blues are my favorite colors as well as teal which is really green and blue.

This is a Real Rainbow Angel baby she has all the colors in a rainbow, Red, Gold, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. So therefore a good name for this suncatcher is Angel of Chubby Rainbows because she is round and chubby. Find her in my shop online Krystal Kat's or my Etsy Shop

Join me on my Krystal Kat's Facebook Page to find out where I have posted these suncatchers and any other new ones.

A Sunny Day in January

I am looking forward to a spring day. Today is another pretty day out, the sun is shining and makes me yearn for spring.

I made this card it will remind me of what today looks like outside my window this beautiful January day. Many times in January we have gorgeous days only to have lots and lots of wind and rain in February.

I made this card with the gorgeous Poppy Stamps Die Grand Madison window, Grand Shutter and Grand Flower Box.
For some of the little flowers and birds I used McGill Punches and for the tall stem flowers on the side and in the flower box. I used Memory Box Dies the Flutter Flowers for over the top of the window. I also used over the window part of a Arboscello tree die for a little greenery and a cute sun from MFT Die-Namics and then I used the Memory Box Fringe border die to make the grass.
I don't tend to jot down what paper I use but it's all pretty!

Have a nice day!

Altered Art Fairy and Flowers on Canvas with 1904 Woman's World Magazine Clips

An interesting Altered Art Fairy and Flowers on a painted canvas with old 1904 clippings from a Woman's World magazine. I cut a piece from the old magazine that would not cut into the the story "Boys and Girls', the old Ad for the buggy is from of Sears and Roebuck & Co Chicago ILL. I loved this AD because my dad was born and raised in Chicago. My grandmother shopped at Sears and my aunt told me lots of stories about their shopping trips to Sears. I can't remember but I think the buggy was $21.00, that seems unreal to me.

I first painted the canvas with a pretty and bright tea/green/yellow acrylic paint and then I just started adding scrapbook paper flowers and some cute fairies I had for decoupaging that I have had for about 10 years or more. I finally used some of them....................
I wanted something old and had this 1904 magazine, but I would not want to cut into except I had two, so I went ahead and cut up the second copy.
On the very top I added cute little Swarovski Crystal Stars and round flat crystals (of course Swarovski Crystals) I am the queen of Swarovski Crystals if nothing else....
then I covered the top with Beeswax that I melted and added a cute moon and star pendant that was made in Germany.

This is probably weird and ugly to some, but I find it a bit interesting. It's really a gift for a friend of mine in Italy who also likes things a bit quirky.

I am sending her this along with the sunflower card I showed off in this post.

I redecorated my blog to a nice clean fresh look, not so clutter-y.
See those social media buttons on the right top of this page, I found a  easy interesting way to put them in a folder in Picasa Photo Album from Blogger to link to them. This was much easier for me that the directions I found online. I will have to talk about it in a post at some point in more detail.

Have a Happy Sunday!

Paper Crafts and Stitchery

Steve and I are in the process of getting our Passports so we can go to Canada this Spring for our Vacation. We are going to drive, which will take us through Oregon, Washington and then into Canada. We don't live in Southern CA so that will save us about 8 hours of driving. We are bringing our dogs and I found a few places in Canada that will take pets for our stay. Awesome! the only bad thing is we are leaving on Good Friday and will be in Canada on Easter. I will miss my family for Easter but we will get together when we get back. I will do the gathering for my birthday which is the 9th, that way I will be sure to get gifts....ha...ha...ha. We will see lighthouses and I will photograph them. There will be quite a few. I wont' be able to see them all though on this trip.

Another Potpourri Post really about Paper Crafts & Embroidery.

I made this cute birthday card for my  brother just this morning, it was his birthday yesterday and I am going to stop at his shop today and give him the card and a little gift. He loves Starbucks so a gift card to there with chocolate candy he likes is what I got him.

I made several owl pillow boxes aren't they so cute? The pillow box die is from Die-Namics and the owl is from Savvy Dies

I just love these two owls, so cute..................

The owl above is the first one I made.... not my favorite but cute in a way. It says Happy Valentines day, but I decided the ones with the other owls are super cute and I will go with those.

I hear my real owl in the oak tree hooting right now! yes it's mine. LOL!

I made this embroidery stitchery while trying to figure out what I want to do for the last floral panel to make a quilt. I need four panels and I have three.

I don't think I can find anything that knocks my socks off, so I will just go with one that is going to be rated as a 7, that will have to do I guess. I will get started on the last floral panel  this weekend. Then the next week hopefully the quilt!

Have a wonderful Friday and Happy Weekend!

We Love Our Pets

My Sweet Little Edee has had a very bad week. Apparently she has Degenerative Back or Spine not sure exactly what they call it. I am really sad that she has this. I was not aware this was a problem for Chihuahua's. My sweet little Edee (E-D) is a girl and now 8 years old, I cannot believe so much time has passed by. The Vet says she is not at the surgery point yet. I will try to keep her from jumping up onto the couch and such forth but she does it so fast when she is feeling, well like a jack rabbit she is.

She is feeling much better today. I am so happy about that.

Have a nice day!

Potpourri of Topics

Happy Sunday! What a gorgeous Sunday in Northern CA! it's cold but beautiful. The Sierra Mountains Glisten with snowcaps, so pretty. I can see them from the street in front of my house.

Here are some cute fun crafts I worked on this week.

Cute Strawberry Treat Boxes, I got the Die to make this from My Favorite Things it's pre-scored so that makes it easy and already embossed! Love that.
Valentine Lollipop Holders, I got the Die & Stamps to make these from My Favorite Things. These are pre-scored as well and I added some cute Cherub and Love Die accents to it from Savvy Stamps, My two favorite companies are My Favorite Things and Savvy Stamps.
Side view of the Lollipop Holder, I glued down the lollipops to the bottom.
A cute Poinsettia Thank You Card I made for a good friend who made me an adorable shawl for Christmas. I used My Favorite Things Large Poinsettia Die and the smaller one is from Savvy Stamps.
A good dear sweet friend of mine from Italy Mary Grace has Breast Cancer, she gave me a beautiful Sunflower painting last year she painted so I am sending her this card with my thoughts and prayers and a gift I made her.
I made this card with Die-Namics Sunflower Die, that is from My Favorite Things, The frame behind it, the Debutante is from Memory Box. Another favorite company of mine to purchase craft dies from.  The vines I made from a Swirly Tree die from Memory Box since I didn't have any vines in my stash of stuff.

Since this is a Potpourri post I will go to the next topic now......

I finished another embroidery last week the flower one..all done. I am currently working on the 4th one. I have slowed down a bit this past week because I was out with a friend and to see my grandson and daughter and Steve had a day off in the middle of the week.

Floral Stitchery

This image is from my cell phone of the flower stitchery. I now upload my smartphone images to Picasa Photo Albums. That is really really cool I love that. I am having a hard time deciding on the last floral stitchery, I just cannot find something I am thrilled with. I am going to make a quilt with the four panels.

Diet and Eating Healthy. I have come up with some healthy food ideas and a good method to lose about 5 to 6 lbs in one week. I have a great metabolism so this works for me very fast.  I eat mostly protein through the week and no more that 60 to 80 carbs per day, I eat strictly protein foods and veggies that are low in carbs, there are a lot.
I didn't count carbs on this because it's the weekend and I eat what I want on the weekend within limits.
This is Dannon 80 calorie cherry light & fit Greek Yogurt with fruit on the bottom, Fresh Strawberries, Blueberries and Kiwi. The yogurt is 80 Calories and the whole bowl full of yumminess is less than 200 calories. 9 grams of Carbs. This is all less that 60 carbs for sure. I used about 1 cup of the fruit over the top of the yogurt. For the container of greek yogurt it is 9 grams of carbs and zero fat.

What's great about Kiwi?
Kiwifruit is literally filled with fiber. All those little black seeds combine for a good dose of insoluble fiber, which aids digestion by decreasing the transit time of stools through your system. But kiwifruit also offers soluble fiber, providing bulk that promotes the feeling of fullness -- a natural diet aid. By creating gel-like substances that trap bile acids, it has the potential to reduce blood cholesterol levels. As well as Vitamin C, Carotenoids, antioxidants. Low in Calories about 45 calories for one kiwi. No Fat.
What's Great About Strawberries?
Low in calories, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Potassium, Antioxidant and Anti Inflammatory. No fat and one cup is only 53 calories.
What's Great about Blueberries?
It is known from some of the studies that blueberries slow down the aging process on nerve cells. The oxidative stress on the nerves caused by damaged oxygen molecules was observed to be decreased by blueberries. Blueberries contain anthocyanin which is called as anti-inflammatory substance. Anthocyanin present in blueberries is known to soften the arteries and prevent them from getting constricted due to stress. Vasoconstriction caused by stress induces high blood pressure which can result in cardiovascular disease. The relaxation of arteries occurs due to increase in nitric oxide provided by blueberries. Blueberries also improve the mood status by transporting energy to the brain. 40 calories for 1/2 cup, a little higher in carbs, but worth it because of the nutrition value.

Super Foods You Should Eat

Last but not least is my favorite little guy

Now that Rylan walks he want only to walk where he wants........
Little Boy Big Cup it's just water and ice!

Okay that's the end of my Potpourri Post.

So Stitchy

Finally I am making a post and taking time to blog. During the holidays I was busy making lots of lots of crystal suncatchers. Blogging is a lot of work these days for me, so Facebook is  really a better way to share with more and you can write a few words without to much to do. If you would like to friend me on FB you can do it here.  Or if you are fan of Krystal Kat's you can like me here on Facebook. I have had a lot of spammers on this blog lately. They go to an old post then post stupid sentences that make no sense with links to their junk sites. Of course I am smarter than a spammer, they cannot leave their comments at my blog. Gees! How annoying they are.......

I missed the Merry Christmas Wish to everyone and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great one.

So far this year I have been busy...I have been working out and visiting friends a lot. Trying to get out of the house a bit more. It's a bit of driving because I live out away from the larger city where everything is. But that is okay, sometimes living in the city can be nice I guess, but it is quiet where we live and the crime is very very low. So how can I complain.

I have been working on embroidery this year. My step granddaughter loves to do this and I am a cross stitcher. In the 70's I did this, but not much since I had kids. When at Christmas Kayla wanted me to get her Embroider things I was ecstatic a crafty kid! yay!!! even though she is not my granddaughter by blood we are the crafty gals in the family.

I need to make one more then I am going to make a quilt with them.
They work up really fast. I have made all these within the past week. This is a lot faster than cross stitch!!!

Steve is getting ready to upgrade my craft room again getting rid of the desk and making me even more work space! I am one lucky girl! See my craft room here. I have not even posted the most recent updates so now I will wait until Steve works his magic!

The weather is very cold low temp at night has been 22 F. Brrrrr!
Well that's a bit all for me...hope you're having a Happy New Year!
