My Bloom Quilt has Bloomed

Hello All,

The last row of blooms were sewn onto the quilt today. Follow along with Lori Holt's Bloom Quilt along. Each week she gives directions to make each block. She uses Calico Days Fabric and Simple shapes, which are templates.
I know she has plans with for more simple shapes ifor a Christmas Theme for later this year.
Here is my 5 rows of Flower Blooms.

I also used the embroidery part of my new Babylock Unity to make this cute pillow. Yes I've been a busy stitcher. This is for my daughters step daughter Kayla.

It's a simple design for my first embroidery work using the Unity.

Until next time...Bloom Where You're planted!

Row 4 Bloom Quilt and Healthy Eating

Today was a pretty nice day outside, although mine was indoors.
Sewing of course on my Bloom Quilt, from Lori Holt's sew along. Rileyblake designs, Calico Days. I Got row 4 done. It takes me over an hour to cut and shape and sew all the appliqué pieces to each flower block. Sewing the strips and blocks together goes a bit faster.
Tomorrow I have to make 4 flowers, so that's a few hours. Not sure I will have enough time to get another row in. That would be row 5, the final row of flower blocks.
It sure would be a nice to finish it. But... I do have other things I need to do.
Here is a few photos of row 4.
Sweet Quilt.
On the couch.
These good for you veggies are extra yummy with a tad bit of lemon Pepper and other spices. I sautéed zucchini, green onions,
Yellow, red and green peppers. Delicious!
Have a blessed Friday!

Row Three of Bloom Quilt Done!

Happy Sunday Eve!
It's getting late, but I'm keeping a quilt log this year.
Also a Little healthy food we're eating.
Rain...rain...rain. That's what's it's been here. Snow in the Sierras. We need it though.
Row two
I think it's going to happen...it will be done by Spring.
row three!
Two more rows to go. Time to make more flowers.
Bloom Quilt Sew Along by Lori Holt

You can sew along too with Lori Holt's Bloom quilt sew along, just click the link below. The sew along starts today January 18, 2016.
It's all happening on my Unity Babylock my DH bought me for Christmas.
This probably does not look all that appetizing, but this is a veggie pizza I made. No meat, veggies only. Scallions, zucchini, onions, green bell pepper, red sweet peppers, yellow sweet peppers, jalapeños, black olives, seasoned tomato sauce with Italian Spices. Motzerella cheese. I baked it on pillsbury pizza crust. However that crust is not on the eat clean list. But it was quick and easy for Saturday night Pizza.

We'll see what healthy eating I can up with this next week. Trying to prepare a variety of foods.

Until next time!
Be Blessed!

Bloom Quilt and Heathy Eating

Hello All!

It's Friday! It's raining finally. Been raining pretty much all week.

I've been working on my Bloom Quilt, designed by Lori Holt. It's a sew along, but I've moved beyond the sew along part now. She showed some tutorials on her blog for making the flowers. It looks like making the quilt blocks may begin January 19th. I decided that was to long to wait. I just found the free pattern on Riley Blake Designs website. So off I went and I've made one row so far.

For Christmas I got a Fitbit Flex. I love
It! I put a cute band on it.

We also bought a Spiralizer from kitchenaid. It's an attachment. Really fun.

You can make a lot of healthy food with it.
So far we've made zucchini
pasta. This recipe is in a online PDF file.
Shown above. I made turkey meatballs.
Healthy version compared to beef meatballs.

I'll be doing a lot of healthy cooking this year. After all, I lost 10lbs on Autumn Calabrese's 21 day fix. Where I learned about food portion control, and eating healthy.

Did you have to much Christmas and New Years?

Here is a fat burning soup. We ate it tonight. Delicious and healthy.
Cabbage Soup
5 Carrots Chopped
 3 onions, chopped
Onions
2 (16 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes, with liquid
1 large head cabbage, chopped
1 ounce envelope dry onion soup mix
1 (15 ounce) can cut green beans, drained
 2 quarts tomato juice
2 green bell peppers, diced 10 stalks celery, chopped 1
(14 ounce) can beef broth.
Add all ingredients and simmer until done to desired tenderness.
Excellent soup.
 Hubby loved it.

Happy weekend all. Be sure to leave a comment and say Hello!

Winter Days

Hello All,

I always
seem to get so much done in the winter. I am not really sure why. What about you?

This week I had to turn my attention away a bit from the bloom quilt. I needed to get done block #4 of Purrfectly Pieced BOM. Block of the month. The next one, and final one #5 was in the mail to me.
Somehow I finished #4 all in one day on Monday. Mainly I finished it because my husband had the day off, which actually worked out good for me. I was able to get some much needed alone time. No cooking, cleaning.
So just as I finished block #4, my husband comes in with the mail. In the mail was the last block and finishing kit, all the buttons for the kitties eyes, border and backing fabric.
Today I finished block #5. All the blocks are complete.
I can start sewing the blocks together now and the kitties shall get their eyes.
it's adorable..just as I thought it would be.
Time to stitch it up and quilt it.
This is all the progress I have on the bloom quilt. Only two unfinished flower blocks. Tomorrow is another day!
This is the old couch I am trying to bring some life to and into this room with this quilt.
the couch is in excellent condition, it's just old. I love the real wood on it. I hope the bloom quilt will help this room. Also the cute pillow I made is from a pattern in Lori Holts 2016 Calendar, the cozy house pillow. I will need to make another cute pillow for the other side.
Sweet, very sweet.
I didn't even make the table runner on the coffee table, but it has all the colors in my quilt!
Well next time I blog, hopefully there will be a lot more progress on the bloom quilt .
On to healthy eating and the 21 day fix. I am maintaining my weight loss. But I need to stick to the clean eating. It is hard, esp with your 83 year old mom, who eats whatever she wants and the hubs a junk food junkie.
Thankfully I have never been over weight, but I had an extra 10 lbs I did not need or want. I exercise almost every single day. I can really see how my body is getting toned. I love it.

This was dinner, salmon and salad for mom and I. For the hubs who hates fish, I gave him leftover homemade soup with turkey from thanksgiving. Yummy!

Have a great Thursday! God Bless!

Happy New Year 2016!

Hello All,

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Years Eve and Day!

We had a friend over for dinner. For Christmas Eve I had all the family over, wew, what a night!
I told my husband after the kids left, I am exhausted, he said he was too.
Afterwards we cleaned up the mess and went to bed, which is was late by the time we were done which was almost 12 am.

Lets start the new year with a little prayer...and bible verse from the Bible. I pray each one that comes to my blog has a wonderful and Happy New Year!

What is everyone working on? anything special and new ideas?
Especially now that the holidays are over, the lul of winter will set in and we will enjoy crafting and reading books and new projects and new ideas! I look forward to the New Year, I pray it's a happy and healthy one!

Here are some flowers I made so far for my Bloom Quilt.

I have a few more flowers to go before I start quilting sewing them together and making steps and putting them in a blogs to sew up and make a quilt.

This is going to be my newest quilt the Bloom quilt. It's a sew along with Lori Holt.
Check out her blog about her Quilt Along, the Bloom Quilt

I have a link on my blog about her quilt along, link below and above.

I also need to finish up my BOM, block of the month for my Purrfectly Pieced Quilt.
I have not even started on Decembers and I just got an email that January's payment was taken for January's BOM. This will be the last month and then all 5 BOM's will be sent and I can finish up the quilt and add eyes to the kitties. I really can't stand the eyes not being on the kitties, but I was told they would send all the buttons and finishings in the last Kit.
This is where I purchased the BOM, block of the month from Shabby Fabrics and each month I am sent the kit, I am working on the center one now, there are five blocks in all.  The last one coming up is going to be the one with the duck. I need to get the Home Sweet Home done right away. I don't want to get behind.
I got hooked on making the flowers for Lori Holt's Bloom quilt, Christmas and the Holidays!

Have a very Happy Saturday Dear Friends!
